In 2020 and beyond, the quality and quantity of your online reviews will have a direct impact on your ability to acquire new customers.

When a potential customer is searching for a business, many factors will go into their decision. One of the most important factors is what other customers have said about your business. It’s simple: if the consensus is positive, they’ll be far more inclined to become a customer. Many businesses can do a better job of collecting reviews from their customers, so we’re going to list a few ways you can immediately start accumulating more reviews.

Establish your business on different review platforms. You can start by creating or claiming a listing on the popular review websites. For example, you should create a listing on Google My Business, Yelp, and whatever review website is popular in your industry.

Simply ask for reviews. The truth is that customers love leaving reviews, but that doesn’t mean they’ll automatically leave a review once they engage with your business. The easiest way to get more reviews is to simply ask for them. Send out an email blast to your subscribers asking for a review. If you have a physical location, display a sign asking for reviews. Do the same on your website.

Leverage incentives. You can incentivize your customers to leave a review by exchanging a free product or a discount.

Share positive reviews that you’ve already received. This will encourage customers to leave their own review.
